Determining physical installed memory

I am trying to find out :
- what kind of Dimms are installed (256, 512)
- how many slots are used

I am using a HP9000 L2000 with HPUX11 64b

Is there a script available for this purpose?
It is not possible to reboot the server to go to bios. I already tried sam, cstm, etc..

Hi Edwin,

I never had any problem using cstm to determine the memory simms sizes and slots etc.

Did you try this,
echo 'selclass qualifier memory;info;wait;infolog' |cstm > /tmp/mem.info

now look in the file /tmp/mem.info for you the memory simm sizes and slots.

Did you get any errors when you tried using cstm?

Hi Edwin:

You still have other options:
1. SAM
Performance Monitors --> System Properties --> Memory

2. #top
see the top of the output for the memory info

3. #dmesg
see man for more
