side_ss(): Bailing out on bad IDE status (0x7f)

If I boot my HP-UX (11.0) machine I get this error message:

side_ss(): Bailing out on bad IDE status (0x7f) on index 2
side_ss(): Bailing out on bad IDE status (0x7f) on index 3

On the IDE Port is only the CD-Rom connected which is working.

I don???t have any ideas what can be the problem.

This is due to the fact that you could have multiple devices on the IDE bus, but the driver isonly finding one.
PHKL_20822 or it's superceding patch should help alleviate these symptoms, although they are harmless.

The messages are related to the IDE driver. It will appear every time the driver communicate with the CD-ROM. They are not destructive. Please check if you got path PHKL_20822 (IDE/ATAPI) patch installed. Apparently this patch will get rid of the annoying message.
