Does anyone knows what can be the problem when one answers a mount request and it fails?

Well this is a bit hard to determine...
what request? Omniback/backup?

Think folks here would need some more info on system; error, etc.

Yo Comprende !

Take a look...it has a message, generally in brackets like [xx.xxxx].
The error could be telling you that there is an I/O problem with either the device or the medium.
Or it could simply be meaning that the tape in the drive is either not the one it wants...or if you know that tape CAN be written on..then the tape needs to be either initialized or recycled.

Can you give us more details:
What version of OmniBack are you running?
On what platform (O/S)?
What is the exact message you get after you do a Confirm Mount Request?
