Okay, this one may be tough, i installed the GTK GNOME software (latest version on software.hp.com, then netscape 7.0, and then the Java JRE software 1.4.1 on to hpux 11.0 k570. (in this order). i wanted to have a working browser on this machine. But, I can't get this to work. i get this error when i try to run netscape;

/opt/Netscape/run-mozilla.sh[38]: 4292 Bus error(coredump)

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas of why i am getting this? As far as i have read, this is the correct order to install these products. i have been running it using it's full path to execute netscape /opt/Netscape/netscape. All swinstalls went well, with no errors. I have all critical patches installed from DEC 2002.

go for a swverify \* and look for corruption or porblems with prerequisites.

The verions of netscape that comes with gnome works rather nicely.

I'd go for the pure mozilla too.

I am attaching a procedure for analyzing the core dump. You may have a patching problem and HP support can look at the output and let you know.

SEP

i installed version 1.3 of mozilla and it appears to be working just fine. We couldn't get netscape to work with 11.0 or 11.i. don't know why. i will look at the attachment. i did an swverify on the entire depot and everything appears to install correctly. Mozilla appears to work however. Thanks for in the fix.

I'm sure I saw this when I first installed N6 but it was a while back ......

try the following instead : /opt/netscape/netscape ?

fyi : there is a version of Mozilla for hpux 11.00 : send me an email if you want the depot or await it's imminent arrival at http://www.hp.com/go/mozilla
