I like security and shell techniques myself. Security can be a big hassle, so perhaps some interactive shell techniques, and basic scripting in a not so common shell. I.E. C-shell.

NOTE: I wrote C-shell programs to ping all IP's in a range and build reports to show if servers were up or down, do system accounting for me, archiving (as C-shell is very fast at handeling numbers), and even a script which launches remote shells to an IP range killing all user processes for a given user. (that was a fun one).

Regards,
Shannon

I got an email this morning on a call for papers for HP World this year. (In Hot-lanta) They want the submissions by the end of January.

Is anyone going to submit a paper? Should I do a paper, and if so, what topic should I do it on? (I always hating having to do essays or talks where I had to pick the topic.

Last year I presented at the customer patch panel. It was fun.

John

You could do a poll program about what West-European country HP-World would be held next year, but I guess that since it is in the US, all votes would go to US, a neverending cycle.

how about MC Service Guard - high availability clustering? I've been spending a lot of time doing that lately. or... my own pet project at work... ServiceControl Manager (SCM). What a great product. Judging from the ammount, or should I say lack of topics related to it on the forum, I'd say not many people know about it. That's what I'd do.
