Hi:
Can someone help me.
In my server L2000, I have:
"Your system crashed before I/O and dump configuration was complete.
A crash dump cannot be taken under these circumstances without
special configuration."
What is the special configuration

My system L2000, is down(yet). I don-?t know how up.

Thanks for your answers
Rolando

Rolando, call HP to check/fix hardware first, and only then troubleshoot software
Eugeny

Hi Rolando,

No problems. Nothing to worry about. You may start your system.

Try rebooting it normally, and if it doesn't check what the errors say. You may then try rebooting it once in single user mode.

Sometimes, a dump is not complete and the system crashes. Just make sure that you have the appropriate space. Amount of RAM=free space on /var/adm/crash filesystem. Keep monitoring for disk space on your filesystems. You may even put up a script for it. If there is an HPMC error, HP will have to replace a CPU in most probability or if it's a memory fault, then they will give you some solution about it.

If you system has any issues, it will dump again. I don't think opening a h/w call with HP also will give you any help as they will ask you to run the Q4 analysis script which formats the dump for readable use.

Regards,
Anil

Your system has told you it needs a specuial configuration to do what is called an Early Dump.
This is not a trivial task, and I believe your best way forward is to log a hardware call wit your local HP Office.

Hi

As said log a call with HP.

Also try booting your system and watch the console for error messages as it boots - that should give you further information as it boots.

Paula
