Hello,

I 've some problems when i try to use the mt command.
I want to go to the end of the files written on a tape, i know the command mt eom, which doesn't work on my HP box (11.00). I know the fsf which performs this n files each time.
Do you know the best command to do this, in order to create a new volume after an existing one?

Regards

Jerome

To create more than one archive on a tape you can use either tar or cpio. My preference would be lean toward 'cpio' as you can create an actual Index of what is on the tape.
For consistency purposes, I would use 'fsf'. I've never used 'eom'

Once note, you can't use 'fbackup' for this, as by default, the program will tell the tape to rewind on completion of the backup.
