Hi Shahul,

Correct 11i 1.5/1.6 or Itanium only.
Appears to me that 1.6 is targeted for the Itanium 2 processor & in 2003 will support up to 128 CPUs, 1 Tb of RAM & 4 Tb filesize/filesystem size.
Will have greater clustering & security features built-in. Run-time Linux support will also come next year. More dynamic kernel reconfig, to the point where reboots will be significantly less.
But the biggest change is pricing - HP will now charge on a per-processor basis ~ $3000/CPU.

Rgds,
Jeff

Hi

Can anybody point out the basic difference between 11i ver 1.5 and 1.6. Both will not support PA RISC..right?

TIA
Shahul

Actually, I think both 1.5 and 1.6 are Itanium only.

Pete

You are right ! Both will not work on the PA-RISC family. Read this for more information on version 1.6 and 1.5:

http://www.hp.com/products1/unix/operating/choice/hpux_itanium.html

http://devresource.hp.com/STK/hpux_faq.html
