Is this 10.20 or 11.00 and hasthis config been working before without any error ?

thinking about: wrong driver
newest SCSI patch etc.

The close operation has failed.

Sometimes is a hardware issue ( insert 3 or 4 times a cleaning tape).

Some times is a tape related problem ( use another tape).

If it persist change the tape driver.

Hi,
I tought to use the mstm diag utility to pass diagnostics to tape. Also, you can use a tape and make several tar file on it. Then, take a look to the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log to see if there are any new error entry.

Anyway, if you heve got a lot of this messages, the best you can do is change the tape.

I'm not sure if this has been resolved, but I get this message whenever the tape is full.
