Hi,

Your apache HTTPD is running on port 7777 and you face the socket error when you try to connect to the HTTPD service, or when you are trying to connect to the Oracle sqlnet service?

Regards.

Steven Sim Kok Leong

I am running Oracle 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.0 and have set
up an Oracle HTTPD service (on an A400) to talk to a
backend database. After starting Apache I can connect
to port 7777 - but never get a response.

The error log is always
Bad file number: accept: (client socket)

Anyone else encountered this ?

Just to clarify: that socket accept error message is from
the Apache HTTPD server error log. Network connections to
an Oracle database; via 'sqlplus' , work fine.
David.
