Does python come pre-installed with HP-UX ?

Hello,

I am planning to write a python script for HP-UX, but couldn't find anywhere if python comes pre-installed with HP-UX, so our client need not install anything.

Can someone let me know how can I find this info ?

# uname -a
HP-UX hpux02 B.11.31 U ia64 0142952130 unlimited-user license

It's not part of the core OS to my knowledge, but you can download and install a version from HPE here:

https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/free-software/HPUXIEXP1131

If that's not recent enough, there's a slightly newer non-HPE version available here:

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Languages/python-2.7.18/

If you need Python 3, I think you are out of luck...

They don't come pre-installed, but Python 2.7.18 and also 3.9.18 can be downloaded from the Porting and Archiving site: http://hpux.connect.org.uk/
