H/W address on laserjets ??

How do I find the H/W address on a laserjet 4000N printer ??

Look on the physical card or you can use the arp command.

I always just pull the JetDirect card out of the printer and get the H/W address off of the card.

Hi Kevin,

The
arp -a
command will only work on devices in the same subnet.

Also *most* HP lasers will print this info on the Configuration page output.
On my 5000N it's:
Menu -> Information Menu -> Item -> Print Configuration
And it'll be on the JetDirect Page.

Hi,
You can also remsh into the printer's JetDirect card and use it's built-in commands to get it.
(Might be password protected)
