      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have a user who is thrown out straight after logging in. I have checke /etc/passwd and all looks well. This is a 10.20 machine. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Has anyone seen this before?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Trystan.</description>

      <description>check the initialization file of the user.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;.profile for sh and ksh&lt;BR /&gt;.login and .cshrc for csh&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;whether anything like exit or logout is there.&lt;BR /&gt;Also check the /etc/profile file of /etc/csh.login file whether there is any script like for restricting the number of user logins.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks</description>

      <description>hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What shell is listed for his entry?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Look in the user's .profile (.cshrc) for an "exit 0" or "exit 1" or so forth.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check that ther is a .profile or .cshrc, .login.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Chris</description>

      <description>This could also be for the number of telnet sessions reached its maximum.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can check the current value of nstrpty on the kernel.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ALso check the number of telnet sessions.&lt;BR /&gt;#w|wc -l &lt;BR /&gt;should give you the number of telnet sessions.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If they are equal then must increase the value of nstrpty in your kernel.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>We are using .profile (ksh) and when the user logs in, it gets as far as "checking disk quotas" and then the connection is closed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If I log in as another user and then "su - username" then I get the follopwing message: Memory fault.</description>

      <description>Hi Trystan,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There's probably a command in that users .profile that's kicking out that memory fault error.       <description>Try commenting out the quotas command in the .profile.  This probably means the user is over quota.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Chris</description>
