    <description>Determine which volume group the disk belongs to:&lt;BR /&gt;# strings /etc/lvmtab&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is this disk supposed to be there?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Various things can cause this error message, such as removing a disk without first using vgchange to deactive the volume group.&lt;BR /&gt;# vgchange -a n /dev/vgXX&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Look in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log to see if there are any SCSI or disk type messages that might indicate a bad disk.</description>

      <description>looks like this disc doesn't have a valid lvm header. Is the disc being used?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What does pvdisplay &lt;DISK&gt; show (if anything).&lt;/DISK&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;  &lt;BR /&gt;  DO&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  # strings /etc/lvmtab&lt;BR /&gt;   &lt;BR /&gt; Is this shows that disk,&lt;BR /&gt; If not,You are not using the disk in LVM&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;  Cross check by&lt;BR /&gt;  # pvdisplay /dev/dsk/cxtxdx&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  If it doesn't show any LVM Information,&lt;BR /&gt;  use pvcreate to create the LVM header &amp;amp;&lt;BR /&gt;  add this to an volume, then do &lt;BR /&gt;  vgcfgbackup.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  Thanks &lt;BR /&gt;  R.Suresh. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;   &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Trying to backup a disk (VG) that is not present on the system. The system still thinks it has that VG present in its LVM structure. The disk may have gone bad or did someone remove the disk without vgreducing it out?</description>
