      <description>Hi Jose Luis,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You must edit the file /etc/inetd.conf and chenge the line:&lt;BR /&gt;ftp          stream tcp nowait root /usr/lbin/ftpd      ftpd -l -u 022&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the "022" is the umask for the ftp connections.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Justo.</description>

      <description>It is also important to make sure to disable umask for control.  In ftpaccess&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;umask no guest,real&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also, disable chmod commands&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;chmod no guest,real&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Shannon</description>

      <description>Actually, for a particular user, I would leave the ability to use chmod, then give the user a script rather than using ftp directly. In the script, the remote file's permission bits can be set automatically to any value.</description>
