I added an entry in the /etc/rpc.
I restarted all the daemons.
But when I do rpcinfo and grep for that entry
I do not get it.

Any reason why that entry is not registering?

Hi,

The file /etc/rpc is merely a hostsfile like translation from numbers to rpc programs.

It is the application making use of rpc that has to register with the rpc subsystem.

You are not supposed to update the file manually as Rik pointed out it is for remote procedural calls by subsystems and daemons.
