Hi,

Yes, q4 will be loaded with this patch but I would suggest loading PHCO_28067 as it fixes a hang in q4 when it starts.

If you don't know q4 your best bet is using the included perl scripts, which print information in a format normal commands do, ie ioscan. Using q4 interactively takes a very good knowledge of the kernel data structures and takes a while to learn.

Regards,

James.

If it is TOC'ing due to SG OPS Edition, I suggest you get your local HP Response Centre to investigate htis, as it can get VERY involved.
Hi
i already log a case with SC. i am interested to know what kind of information it will give in crash and how to read. Dietmar given a good document. But i dont have Q4 installed in my system. If i install the patch PHCO_25723, will Q4 get install...? if not where do i get the Q4 (from external site).

thanks.
If you find Dietmars answer usefull do give him points.
PHCO_25723 is replaced by PHCO_28067. But this is only a patch for Q4 so you should install it from the CoreOS CD. (You MAY get away with force-installing only the patch.)
If you already know that it was SG that brought the node down you wil probably not find anything interesing in the dump.

Regards,
Trond

Hi,

search with keyword q4 in this forum , there is many threads discuss about crash dump.
But for service guard most of TOC is not real panic.
better start with syslog on all nodes.

HTH

I have in the past followed the guidelines above.

Just to make you feel better, and I take points, I have no problems with that.

I will let you know that in order to figure anything out after running the crash dump q4 analysis, I sent the output file to support.

The figured it out instructed me to install a patch and it worked great.

Attached is a html doc which I created based on an HP q4 dump instruction.

Steve

Hello all,

First of all i have to thank Mr. Dietmar. After seeing his document, immediately i went to itrc nad found the latest patch for it and check for filesets weather it is installed.i applied PHCO_20867. I could do first pass analysis for the generated crash. I have to give more points to Dietmar. But max was only 10.

"THANK YOU DIETMAR"

And thank you rest of all.
