Microsoft Project error

I created a new file in Microsoft project and saved it without any problems or errors. Now when I try to open it, the application opens the file briefly and then crashed the application with a winproj.exe error. Is there any way to start project in a debug mode to see what the problem might be?

Steve,

when did this started to happen? did you install something new or an update of some software?
if you have Adobe installed try to uninstall it and see if Project works after a reboot

It is actually happening to someone I work with and I am trying to help her out. She created a .mpp file and now cannot open it without the application crashing. She can open other documents that others have created.

If it is project 2002 with an option set, then there is a fix available,
see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823361/
otherwise you should check for errors in the event viewer, and log files on the pc.
(if project crashes it should create a drwatson.log file)

Why not trying to reinstall that piece of software over its current folder ?
