Hi,
you might try to set the value of the machines that have that delay problem to 1 instead of 0 in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\LPDSVC\LPR
this will make the server use more ports for communication with the printer host.

Susanne

(The setup for this problem is an NT server acting as print server with several printers on jetdirects )

Hi,

I have 2 problematic printers here : a Deskjet 990Cxi and a Laserjet 1100. Regularly when users submit print jobs, the spooler stops at either the first few KBytes, or after spooling the complete job (eg. the printer job lists says 780KB/780KB in the spooled column)

The only I've found way to resolve the prob is to stop the spooler service, empty the spool dir and restart the server. Sometimes this does not help and I have to delete and re-
create the according jetdirect port on the server.

Both printers are on a 3-port jetdirect, on the first port.

Any help for a permanent resolution would be welcome.
Thanks

Michel Philips
