printserver and jetadmin

I've recently bought a hp500x printserver and tried to get it to work in my LAN
which is : Linux-Server and Win98/Linux Clients. I configured the printserver
and I can ping it and open a telnet session.
But when I use the webjet admin software for Linux it doesn't see my printer (
epson stylus 600 ) nor can I use the software via Netscape 4.7. If I use lynx
it works but as it is a frame-versioned software it's rather tedious to do.
Under Win98 I can install the the driver software, my printer is recognized but
I can't print to the printer.

So please give me some advice to get it to work.

Not sure why jetadmin is not discovering your Epson. Although Netscape 4.7 was
not on the supported browser list last time I checked, I am using it with web
Jetadmin on Linux with no problems. There apparently is a known issue with
the stylus series and external print server. Details/workaround below

HP JetDirect Print Servers - Epson Stylus Series Printer Fails to Print with
External HP JetDirect

ISSUE: Printing from Windows 95 may fail when using an Epson Stylus series
printer (e.g. Epson Stylus 800 or Epson Stylus Pro), while the HP JetAdmin test
page and parallel printing is successful.

WORKAROUND: Install the Generic/Text driver to print to the HP JetDirect print
server. This will prove the functionality of the HP JetDirect and the network
connection.

Some Epson Stylus drivers use an Epson Spool Manager. If so, the following
steps may solve the issue.

1. Select Start, Programs, Epson, and Epson Spool Manager 4.

2. Select the Queue menu and select Setup.

3. Put a check in the box next to "Use Windows Print Manager"

4. Select OK to exit Epson SpoolManager 4 and resend the print job.

The Spool Manager help files should contain additional instructions for network
printing. If these instructions do not provide adequate information or a
solution, contact Epson for the proper printing configuration and solution.
