    <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;First, confirm the DDS scsi ID.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2nd confirm it is detected from system BIOS.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3rd confirm your scsi card AND DDS3 drive is detected from Linux kernel.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4th confirm st (scsi tape) driver is loaded in your kernel.  #lsmod  or dmesg&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;5th try # tar tvf /dev/st0  and see if the drive work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Enjoy,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Can anyone tell me if they have successfully used a HP External DDS-3 Tape Drive ( p/n C1556 ) with Linux?  I've looked at RedHat's HCL and there is no mention of that drive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;TIA!&lt;BR /&gt;Tom&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
