      <description>This is the file I downloaded using my subscription account,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;B3899BA,r=B.11.02.10,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.tar&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When I untar it, it generated a group of directoris. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;bash-2.05a# ls C-ANSI-C/&lt;BR /&gt;C       C-HELP  C-MAN&lt;BR /&gt;bash-2.05a# ls catalog/&lt;BR /&gt;AudioDevKit       C-Dev-Tools       ImagingDevKit     dfiles&lt;BR /&gt;Auxiliary-Opt     CDEDevKit         WDB&lt;BR /&gt;C-ANSI-C          DebugPrg          WDB-GUI&lt;BR /&gt;C-Analysis-Tools  INDEX             X11MotifDevKit&lt;BR /&gt;bash-2.05a#&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I tried "swinstall -s /tmp/compiler" but still can't get it going.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In the end I have to fall back to CD media but this took me hours effort to locate 5012-1973 CD and Codeword papers. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Just wondering why installation of HP compiler software is kind of diffcult. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can anyone advise me how to install compiler software I downloaded from itrc SUM ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks for your help in advance.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tj</description>

      <description>My temp compiler directory is in /opt/compiler.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Following is the error log when I try to run "swinstall -s /opt/compiler \*" command.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SNIP&gt; /var/adm/sw/swagentd.log&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ERROR:   The target "/opt/compiler" could not be opened. pid=24362&lt;BR /&gt;         03/26/06 18:53:33 MST&lt;BR /&gt;       * Agent pid=24362 completed.  03/26/06 18:53:33 MST&lt;BR /&gt;       * Agent pid=24359 completed.  03/26/06 18:53:33 MST&lt;BR /&gt;       * Started install agent on "/" for root@b-hp11, pid=24378,&lt;BR /&gt;         03/26/06 18:54:10 MST&lt;BR /&gt;       * Started source agent on "/opt/compiler" for root@b-hp11,&lt;BR /&gt;         pid=24381, 03/26/06 18:54:11 MST&lt;BR /&gt;ERROR:   Cannot lock depot/root at "/opt/compiler" because the lock&lt;BR /&gt;         file "/opt/compiler/catalog/swlock" is not there and cannot be&lt;BR /&gt;         created.       <description>hi tj;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;follow these steps:&lt;BR /&gt;1- move the *.tar file /tmp&lt;BR /&gt;2-extract the tar file&lt;BR /&gt;tar -xvf *.tar&lt;BR /&gt;3- create depot file with create depot&lt;BR /&gt;4- swinstall -s /tmp/&lt;DEPOT file=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;be sure write depot's full path&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;mustafa&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/DEPOT&gt;</description>

      <description>Just to make sure you understood what Steven was saying.  You do NOT untar a SD depot.&lt;BR /&gt;You take the file you have and use as root:&lt;BR /&gt;swinstall -s $PWD/B3899BA,r=B.11.02.10,a=HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.tar \*&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;Can anyone advise me how to install compiler software I downloaded from itrc SUM?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Aren't there installation instructions there?</description>
