will aCC 3.60 work on HP Itanium

I'm able to install aCC 3.60 on HP Itanium
machine. But i'm not able to compile even
small programs. I'm get following error.

Error Message:
bash-3.00# ./aCC test.cpp
ld: Unable to load shared library "/opt/langtools/lib/hpux64/libu2comp.so"
Fatal error.

Actually this software (aCC3.60) came along with my PA RISC machine. Does HP Itanium require differnt software .

There's no way a compiler for the PA-RISC platform is going to generate meaningful code an a IA64 box, even if you could get it to run! GO here to check out the various versions of the compiler you might want:

Have you installed the compiler from your itanium Application CD's?

You can ask for a new codeword if you have a support license

The compiler is on the Itanium pricelist

Yes, HP Itanium requires different software. All HP's compilers are available for free for HP DSPP program members. If you aren't DSPP member, you must buy new license and Application Media for HP-UX 11i v2.
