Hello Darren,

I heard about a rescue tool named "mondo", but I personally never used it :

http://freshmeat.net/projects/mondorescue/

Good luck.

Kodjo
Hello,

I read about this product, RecoverEDGE for Linux, but have not used it. There is a free demo version and it sounds like it does similar things the make_recovery can do.

http://www.microlite.com/News_and_Events/pressfallcomdex99/pressfallcomdex99.htm

Hope it helps.

Martin

RecoverEDGE from Micolite is a fantastic product! It has the ability to use the OBDR of HP SureStore range of Tape drives so you can rebuild your system literally at the press of a few buttons!

It is extremely easy to use, configure, and create/restore files.

The newer version (1.02.00) can also create bootable DVD-RAM's in much the same manner as the OBDR tapes, thus removing the need for 'rescue floppy disks' completely!

... Ok, so this is an unsolicited rant about a good product! :)

I've heard that RecoverEdge doesn't work when you're using LVM.
Hi Darren,

I've post a reply to a question just like yours some time ago, that solves the problem.

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=710186

Hope it helps.
Xyko
