Vernon,

I highly recommend that you pick up a copy of the Partition Magic Software. In fact the Linux Mandrake 6.x & 7.0 software bundles came with the CD Roms. The limited version of Partition Magic automatically sizes the partitions for you.

Hope that helps.

After successfully installing Red Hat Linux on one of my HP Pavilions I attempted to install it on the other one. I mistakenly ran the first fips (not the fips20) to free up space for Linux. Now I can't get the Red Had disk druid to create the / or /boot partitions. It gives an error message "Boot partition too big".

I've tried the HP restore but it only restores to the Windows partition.

Thanks Albert; Partition Magic did the trick !!

I had to completely delete all partitions on the C: drive, do a low level format, then partition it with Partition Magic. Now I'm up and running with most of by backups restored.
