      <description>This happened with I tried to connect using the microsoft built in ftp client.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I tried other clients and it worked fine. I checked the vsftpd.conf file made some logical changes and...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;service vsftpd restart&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then it went away.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have no idea, specifically what I did. I think it does have something to do with the Microsoft ftp client, the one built into Windows 98 and other consumer versions.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>issue this command&lt;BR /&gt;telnet x.x.x.x 21&lt;BR /&gt;where x.x.x.x is the IP address of your ftp server.&lt;BR /&gt;This will tell you what server is listening (if at all).&lt;BR /&gt;also do &lt;BR /&gt;chkconfig gssftp off&lt;BR /&gt;it seems from other forums that it may help in your situation...</description>
