Hi,

I have a machine running Debian 3.0R2 (Woody) and would like to make it a Systems Insight Manager server. Looking at the downloads it seems that SIM is only available for:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 with update 1
SuSE SLES 8.0 (based on United Linux 1.0 kernel)

Does anyone know if its possible to install SIM on Debian or if HP will release a package for Debian.

Thanks

nothing on debian.

You may want to work about it but I think it's wasted time, because a lot of things may change while you're working.

Anyway you could
1) alienize hp rpms
2) recompile a brand new kernel using hp-compliant module sources
3) search for errors.

maybe some hp responsible may tell if I'm wrong

Peace, R.

Well, haven't tried it yet, but it should work on debian, following these guidelines:

http://users.sk-tech.net/other/HPrpm2deb.html

Hope this helps.. Feedback on this is appreciated if you get it working..

Good luck.
