      <description>hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have 2 harddisc:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;- first MASTER with WIN2000&lt;BR /&gt;- second SLAVE with linux SUSE 9.1 und freeBSD&lt;BR /&gt;(First I have installed freeBSD und afterwords linux)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;my second harddisc looks:&lt;BR /&gt;Name Flags Part Type FS Type [Label] Size (MB)&lt;BR /&gt;------------------------------------------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;hdb1 Primary Linux ext2 [BOOT] 213.86&lt;BR /&gt;hdb5 Logical Linux swap 2155.03&lt;BR /&gt;hdb6 Logical Linux ext3 18877.02&lt;BR /&gt;hdb3 Boot Primary FreeBSD 10479.01&lt;BR /&gt;Primary Free Space 48298.85&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've installed freeBSD with the option: &lt;BR /&gt;- None Leave the Master Boot Record untouched&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;GRUB is installed at the root partition /dev/hdb6 and can boot linux without any problems.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;How can I boot freeBSD using GRUB ? &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've tried already with: &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;title FreeBSD 5.2&lt;BR /&gt;root (hd1,3,a)&lt;BR /&gt;kernel /boot/loader&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;at /boot/grub/menu.lst but it doesn't work.</description>

      <description>Hello Chris,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I do not know BSD, but I've used GRUB.  GRUB's numbering is not the same a linux.  It starts at zero, so what you show as hdb3 would be hd1,2.  I'm not sure the the "a" is there for.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hda1 in lunix maps to hd0,0 in grub.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope that helps,&lt;BR /&gt;Tom</description>
