Team,
I have put the entry in the /etc/exports file which reads only one line as "/oracle"
I have run the "exportfs -r" command.
My intention is to share "/oracle" mount point for every machine & user.
I am able to mount the "/oracle" on the solaris box.
But the root or any other user on the solaris box is not allowed to create or modify a file.
Thanks for your help.

You can specify access rights with the -access parameter in /etc/exports

/filesystem -access=rw

SEP

you should pass the permission in /etc/exports too.
see the syntax for sharing the directory and to have root from the allowed machines have root permissions in the shared folder.
let' say that I'm sharing /oracle folder for subnet 192.168.x.x

/oracle 192.168/16(rw,no_root_squash)

Pay attention that there's no space between the allowed machine and the permissions given...
