Hi,

we keep getting alerts the SSH monitoring is down and the backups are crawling. Is there any tool to track how SSH behaves and how to
check the network traffic which inbuild HP-UX utilities or command.

Can anybody guide me.

Thanks
Vijay S

I'm attaching a HP performance script monitoring package that will work on HP-Ux and can be ported and trimmed down for Linux.

I have never had slowness issues with Linux except when there were issues with DSN name resolution.

I have had problems with HP-9000 boxes that don't have the strong random number generation built in.

http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=KRNG11I

You also need a later version of secure shell because 3.5 and below had performance issues.
http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1471AA

SEP

Adding to what SEP had already said, use the -C switch with ssh to compress the data stream. This is a big help on slow links.
