      <description>When I try to login to a Redhat 9 system, I am gettingt he following error;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;"could not read network connection list&lt;BR /&gt;/home/pramod/.DCOPserver_host1_0&lt;BR /&gt;Pl check that "dcopserver" program is running&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Found that dcop is running in the system. I am able to login into the system using terminal mode. In GUI mode only I am gettingt his error&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Appreciate your help</description>

      <description>This is a KDE issue.  Your default GUI must be KDE and it's either not installed correctly or some other problem has occurred.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;In theory, if you can log in and run "startx" from your non-GUI window, you should get some errors, explaining what the problem is.&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;Failing that, try Gnome as they look and work the same on Red Hat anyway.</description>

      <description>Yes, you should be able to re-install only KDE.  It should be somewhere in your red-hat software install procedure, whatever that is nowadays.</description>

      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;there is chance to solve it without reinstall&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;give 777 permission on /tmp/.ICE-unix directory&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and also check permission on files in $HOME/.kde , they schould be &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;userXX:groupXX&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if not fix it by:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;chown -R userXX:groupXX /home/user/.kde&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hope this will help you&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jan</description>
