    <description>Did you reboot the system without the DDS&lt;BR /&gt;connected, or turned on?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Try the following command: &lt;MT status=""&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;    What did it report?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Check /var/boot.log and see if there are&lt;BR /&gt;    any entries against st0. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Check /var/messages and see if there are&lt;BR /&gt;    any entries against st0.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If there are NO OTHER SCSI single ended &lt;BR /&gt;devices on the bus, OR they are not in use,&lt;BR /&gt;you can try to restart the controller.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Find the name of the controller that&lt;BR /&gt;    the DDS4 is on. Check an old copy of&lt;BR /&gt;    /var/messages if you don't know.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Make sure that the DDS4 is online.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o &lt;CD&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Do a ./[your_controller's_name] stop&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should get an "OK" in the status field.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Do a ./[your_controller's name] start.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should get an "OK" in the status field.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  o Do a &lt;DMESG&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should see a report as to its status.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards,&lt;BR /&gt;tonyp&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/DMESG&gt;&lt;/CD&gt;&lt;/MT&gt;</description>

      <title>Tape drive problem</title>

      <description>The tape device (DDS4) is working properly previously , now when I use it, ( mt offl) , it pop the message "/dev/st0: No such device or address" , it seems can't detect it , could suggest how can I connect it except reboot it ? thx.</description>
