modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-252

OS - RedHat Enterprise AS 2.1
HW - Compaq DL380 G2

This error message appears in /var/log/messages. I know that if I add a line to /etc/modules.conf it will cease to error. But before I do that, I would like to find out what module is causing this.

I believe the char-major-252 are:
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 252, 0 May 21 14:40 ttyCP0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 252, 1 May 10 15:30 ttyCP1

Now, is there a way to find out what module may causing this error?

Sometimes you have to add a line to a config file to make things work.

If the server works properly I'd leave it alone.
