So if I understand properly you have several Linux clients with KMAIL work well and one linux box with kmail which doesn't work?
If so, I suggest:
- to check IP connectivity and DNS resolution for this client
- you can debug POP3 by connect from problematic box to mailserver manually
[see http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/pop3telnet.htm, for example]
Can you provide more details about your topology? Do you have mailserver and several clients? If so, you need to start POP3/IMAP server on you mailserver in order to server your clients.

Diagnostic, linux to linux

sendmail -v -q

will try to push the queue in verbose mode. We're going to need to see an error output from that.

sendmail -v -d8 -d38 someone@local.net
type some text
<ENTER>
.
<ENTER>

good diagnostics that will also help isolate the problem, which seems like networking.

service sendmail status

what does that return?

SEP</ENTER></ENTER>
