    <description>as I wrote , rcp will work when rsh will work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So you should:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) on server box add  "client_hostname" to ~user/.rhosts file&lt;BR /&gt;2) run "ping client_hostname" from server&lt;BR /&gt;3) chkconfig rsh on&lt;BR /&gt;chkconfig rlogin on&lt;BR /&gt;chkconfig iptables off&lt;BR /&gt;service iptables stop&lt;BR /&gt;4) if user is root, you should add &lt;BR /&gt;rsh&lt;BR /&gt;rlogin&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;to /etc/securetty &lt;BR /&gt;file  on server machine &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;5) run "rsh server date" command from client in order to verify.</description>

      <description>there is no "rcp" service, you should start "rsh" service</description>

      <description>rcp, rlogin, rsh, rsync, etc. all rely on the rsh service.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;make sure the rsh-server and rsh rpms are installed on the respective machines.</description>

      <description>This is my /etc/securetty file:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@RAC1 oracle]# cat /etc/securetty&lt;BR /&gt;rsh&lt;BR /&gt;rlogin&lt;BR /&gt;pts/0&lt;BR /&gt;pts/1&lt;BR /&gt;pts/2&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But I still be denied to rsh with root from another server.</description>

      <description>so add &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;localhost &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;to .rhosts file and check &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;rsh localhost date &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;on server. does it work?</description>
