If you don't want all eyecandy and wan't to get some stable/secure distribution, go to slackware or debian. You will probably get something closer to HP.

Regards,

Fred
Hi Joe,

several ways for installation exists.
1. from original CD
2. from network (NFS,SAMBA, FTP,HTTP)
boot iso needed, You may obtain it from vendor site, e.g. SUSE and than you can install Linux from some FTP mirror, see vendor site, or you can download all distro pakages via FTP to your server and install from there (better, much faster).
3.Or you can also download CDx.iso and burn whole distro to your own CD (e.g. SUSE)

rgds Jan

Easiest way to install:
1. Choose distribution (Suse, Fedora, etc)
2. download iso files
3. burn bootable iso files to cd
4. boot from cd
5. follow instructions.
6. wait 30-40 minutes

voila.
