Linux install roblem

I have the NetServer 5/100 LS2.

When i try to install SUSE from a bootable CD, the System will not start btw. boot from the Linux Install CD. What is the Error? Whats the solution?

Did you sure that your CD is first boot device and that CD is bootable ?

Yes, i am sure. The BootCD is the original SUSE 9.2 Distribution.

In the Bios (Vers. 1.00.08 BG0L), i can only choose this two options:
boot from FloppyDisk or boot from HardDisk.

When i try to boot from HardDisk/CDRom the System hangs after init the SCSI-Adapters.

With a MS-DOS Bootdisk the System will start normal.

Did you try to boot from RedHat or Windows Boot CD ?

I used / use the SUSE 9.2 Installationdisk.

With a Rescuefloppydisk the Server will Boot. After init the SCSI devices i will see button left the message "GRUB" and the System hangs.

"PANIC!" ;-)

Can you replace GRUB with lilo. I read here many msg with GRUB problem.
If Lilo do not help there is problem with your hardware. SCSI CTRL ot DISK.
