I have Fedora Core 3 installed on a DL 380 no problem. My tape library autoloader, a Sony AIT-LP1 uses AIT2 tapes but the loader is not recognized by Fedora. It's hanging off the external port to the 5i Raid controller. This worked successfully with RedHat 8.0 and support packs, but not with Fedora. Any suggestions? Don't want to give up Fedora.

Hi,

check if you have compiled into kernel variable
CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN=y

in menu "SCSI device support -> Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device"

I'm sorry this has taken so long. Right after I posted this I determined that my Sony tape library was broke so I had to send it back to Sony for repair, complete with a stuck tape.

I got the tape library back yesterday, so I'll continue on trying to get an answer to this.

The Fedora Core installation I have has the latest updates so the 2 kernels that are on my machine are:
2.6.11-1.14FC3smp
2.6.11-1.14FC3

[root@wpssrv1 linux-2.6.11]# uname -a
Linux wpssrv1.tow.net 2.6.11-1.14_FC3smp #1 SMP Thu Apr 7 19:38:19 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I got the kernel source rpms and following information at this link:
http://www.brandonhutchinson.com/Recompiling_the_Fedora_Core_kernel.html

If I look under the configs directory, these I believe are the ones my kernel is based on:

kernel-2.6.11-i686-smp.config
kernel-2.6.11-i686.config

If I search for CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN in ether of these both have =y so I'm assuming that multiple lun support is already compiled into the kernel.

Any suggestions?
