      <description>Dear all,&lt;BR /&gt;      I have Redhat LINUX 8. I have installed vsftpd on it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;   Now when i try to start the service vsftpd ,&lt;BR /&gt;it gives the error "unrecognized service"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I have checked the file /etc/xinetd.d/vsftpd&lt;BR /&gt;which has "disable = no".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PLEASE HELP ME !&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks in advance</description>

      <description>in this version of redhat as you can see it's a part of xinetd services.&lt;BR /&gt;you can start it with this command&lt;BR /&gt;chkconfig vsftpd on&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and to stop it with:&lt;BR /&gt;chkconfig vsftpd off</description>
