Dear friends,

I want to pass a Linux exam,a friend had told me that linux+ of Comptia is well than Linux Redhat, because Rh certification is difficult, contains 2 exams, and expensive.

Do you have any idea about this subject?,Can you advice me ?

Thank's a lot.
Best regards.

Know nothing of the Comptia. If you do the RH and pass, this is an accomplishment and is recognized as such.

You are right, expensive and tough. But most everybody out there (dealing with Linux) know this too so this becomes an advantage.

Get the redhat cert... It by far challenges what you know vs. what you have read... I feel it prevents allot of the paper jockeys who go out and get all the certs, put them on their resume, then go out for jobs they can't really do, but the paper says they can!

You are right, it is a bit more expensive, but I think it is worth more to employers than other certs... Plus, if you have a job at this time, odds are the job will pay for you to get the training and the cert.

Just my $.02...

-Ryan
I would suggest to go for RH Certification.

It is tough to complete but it has distinct advantage of better visibilty among the management and recruiters.

Red Hat is the 800 pound gorilla of the industry. That coming from one who has not taken the time to study for the test in spite of years of experience.

SEP

John,

It depends on how much experience you have with Linux. If you are a beginner+ try Linux+ or LPIC-1. If you are somewhere between a beginner and an expert try LPIC-2 or RHCT, if you are an expert try RHCE.

Regards,
Ross
