    <description>If XDMCP is enabled, another possible cause is VLAN subnetting. XDMCP will not work unless both hosts are on the same subnet, even if they can ping each other.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You would have to do direct connect with your X client instead of XDMCP under these circumstances.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;On the Linux host:&lt;BR /&gt;ifconfig&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;On the Windows box:&lt;BR /&gt;ipconfig /all&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>No problems in using pathworks etc to connect to linux. But xmanager&lt;BR /&gt;"C:\Program Files\NetSarang\Xmanager2\Xmanager.exe" -broadcast, does no list the Linux server. It only lists Unix Servers.&lt;BR /&gt;or How to start gnome from PC.&lt;BR /&gt;Please check the issue.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>To start gnome from PC&lt;BR /&gt;Logon on the PC that run Linux from the user prompt type&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;startx&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The above wile start X using the default Gui &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Have a read at man startx and man X for more details.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jean-Pierre Huc</description>
