I have also hack the registry of my windows 2003 in the localmachine/system/currentcontrolset/service/netlogon/.yet still it can't join the domain. I have also created a smbpassord for the root.When i go to /etc/samba/smbpasswd ,i see a long mix of alphanumeric characters.i Have also try creating the smbpassword through the Swat interface but yet still i can not join the domain.When i am joining the domain i see the login box for the user and password but it continue to tell me unknown user " root"<BR />I need your help.Both the Suse linux and Redhat does not allow me to join my windows 2003 PC to their varoius domain. But the Suse linux and Redhat are seperate domains configure with samba.
