Linux + LVM + Hardware Snapshots

I would like to know if hardware based snapshots (MSA/EVA/Other), can be used with LVM.

There are workarounds to use it with HP-UX and AIX. So, how can be used on Linux + LVM?

I have looked around and run a few Google searches and found nothing of use. Yet.

On HP-UX it was ignite that provided most of these tools, and that tool does not run on Linux.

Still looking into it.

Unfortunately, I don't have much info either, although I'm interested in this as well and I've checked some HP docs.

There is some information in the very sparse RSM (Replication Solutions Manager) documentation that mentions volume groups and the inability to use a sequence of:
- clone
- mount on host 1
- dismount
- mount on host 2
-- (not possible, because some context is lost)

but that's all :-(
