Hi,

To find out what it is set to, try:

cat /proc/sys/kernel/threads-max

To change it, do:

echo 100000 > /proc/sys/kernel/threads-max

Its a transient change, so a reboot will clear the value back to what it was before. To keep it, add the echo to a start script.

Regards

Col.

I know that there is a kernel parameter specifying the size of process table in HP-UX.

Is there any equivalent in RH Linux? If yes, how to check the current value and how to tune this parameter?

The version I am using is ES 3 2.4.21-4

Thanks in advance

For permanent change I'll suggest to add

kernel.threads-max = xxxxxx

line into /etc/sysctl.conf file.
