I see this thread is quite old and there is no answer, but I'll try it anyway.

I am currently also on to install lm_senors on a LP1000r, but I didn't get very far. Has anyone ever completed this task?

sensors-detect wasn't of much help, so I tried to manually load the correct drivers (where I am not sure if they are correct):
# modprobe i2c-core
# modprobe i2c-proc
# modprobe i2c-isa
# modprobe w83781d

I also added the following line to my /etc/modules.conf:
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev

Still my /proc/sys/dev/sensors/chips stays empty and sensors keeps telling me: No sensors found!

Anyone out there with any suggesstion?

Thank you,

Johannes Pueller
