topic lansafe III installation in Operating System - Linux

lansafe III installation

Has anyone installed lansafe III on linux?
Inatalling the lansafe software I am asked:

"Please enter the name of the device (or tarfile) to install from.
Install device:

I have put in /media/dvd, my home directory, /dev/cciss/dvd amongst others and cannot figure out what is wanted at this question.
The help pages are totally worthless and the HP help desk has never heard of the software to help.
Does anyone have an answer as to what Install device I am to enter?

Lets say the name of the file is:

lansafe3.tar

and its in /home

/home/lansafe3.tar

should be the answer if the install program is working right.

I agree with you totally. But when I downloaded the software I received it as LINUX.TAR
So, when the Install device: question comes up I put in the total path to LINUX.TAR and when I hit enter the question comes right back at me.

I thought maybe I had a bad download so I remove the old one downloaded a new one did a chksum on it and ran it again with the same results
