I would see about booting it and looking at the dmesg output. There may be something wrong with it.

To find out, look at the logs.

Also, start caring for it. That may not require money, just time. Patches and monitoring, that sort of thing.

SEP

All of a sudden I'm getting the following errors on my largest Novell 5.1 server screen. I know the box is old and hasn't been well cared for but $$ is short so I'm hoping for a manageable solution. I have no more spare servers to transfer data so so any ideas would be helpful?

NETR4M-2.40-0
ID(0:08:0); Unexpected Bus Free [command:0x28]
NETR4M-2.40-0
SCSI bus reset issued on channel 0
NETR4M-2.40-0
ID(0:03:0); Aborted Command [command:0x28]
NETR4M-2.40-0
ID(0:00:0); Aborted Command [command:0x28]
NETR4M-2.40-0
ID(0:08:0); Aborted Command [command:0x28]
Do you have any tape drive on some thing on n the same channel .Normally tape devices are teh culprit.

Some RAID adapters used to have exteranl scsi ports on it , my aswer is only applicable in this setup.

Also check the status of all your disks in that RAID .

Thanks,
BL.
