topic RAID 1 on HP XW8200 in Operating System - Linux

I have successfully configured RAID 1
on my XW8200 (LSI Logic Ultra320 SCSI controller with 2 300 Gb drives). I have installed Red Hat WS 3.0 Update 3 on that system. I have tested the mirror by disconnecting one of the drives and everything works fine.

I wonder how I can detect the status of mirror.
I tried the LSI Logic Cim browser utility but it does not provide details about the mirror.
Their doc says I should see some redundancy status from their Java based tool.

Any ideas/suggestions? Is this a limitation of the HP XW8200 BIOS? The HP specs says RAID 1 works on the XW8200 but it doesn't talk about tools to monitor the state of the mirror.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Hardware mirrors can only be monitored by the tools are hardware specific.

There are tools for the server from HP a bundle that does provide the information you require.

State your server type and I can do a hp search, or you can go here, find your model and browse through the available tools.

http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/prodserv/servers.html

SEP
