Linux / boot > win2k

I have a win2k box. It wont boot. Says the disk is full and it cant boot.

So I was trying to boot of of a linux mondo disk, exit to a shell prompt and try to mount the raid device and delete some ddata so windows can boot.

Any one know how I can do this, or if it is possible?
Any other way to do it?

You could boot from the windows installation cd and run the recovery console. With Linux, normally write support to NTFS partitions is not supported.

I would just troubleshoot the Windows issue instead of going through Linux shell. If your Windows partition was made with FAT32, you will be able to mount it and modify the contents, but not on the NTFS partitions. Even if you try it, that may destroy the data.

Run a recovery attempt from Windows side and try removing some unwanted files. Did you try going in to a Windows "Command prompt only" by interrupting the normal boot process. If you can do that, you and move some data from C: drive.

You make a boot cd, boot and mount NTFS and delete some files so it might boot.

There are a couple of other good cd based distributions that do this also.

Boot from a windows install CD, make your file deletions, and run FIXBOOT and FIXMBR .
