How I perform an upgrade from RedHat Enterprise Linux AS 3 Update 3 to RedHat Linux Enterprise Linux AS 3 Update 6?

The only supported way to do this by red hat is through Red Hat Network (up2date).

You could also download the easy iso images, and upgrade your installation, but this is unsupported.

RH only supports up2date.

There are other methods that work.

aptget

yum

There are respositories supporting both distribution methods.

up2date is generally more relaible, but I've used yum.
